Our new exercise class for people with Parkinson's Disease opens in Meon Vale!

This week we opened our 2nd Circuits class for people with Parkinson’s Disease in the Meon Vale Leisure Centre, Stratford Avon.

A class specifically designed for people with PD incorporating the PD Warrior exercises, low and higher intensity options, focusing on balance, core stability, functional movements, stamina and positive vibes throughout the class.

As part of The Bigger & Better - Fighting Back Against Parkinson Team, which deliver exercise classes across Warwickshire. From Circuits to Boxing, CrossFit to Yoga, our classes aim is to improve physical and mental wellbeing, and help maintain independence for longer.

First we met with Carol Longdon, a lady who runs many charities in the area and a team of volunteers at hand to support the classes and therapy sessions available in the area for people with Parkinson’s.

Focusing on bigger and better movements all the time, the class got underway with lots of enthusiasm, hard work and worked up a bit of a sweat! We were joined by a further group of PD patients and their careers. By the end of the class, ALL had enjoyed a good workout!

Our Warwick and Stratford PD circuits class are for people with mild to moderate Parkinson’s Disease. However, if you or know someone with PD would like to consider joining the class please get in touch.

I look forward to the coming weeks to working with these lovely group of people and my volunteer Alexia.
